Etienne Bignou was a prominent art dealer with offices in Paris and New York. In this letter, he tells Dr. Barnes that he has decided not to offer him Cézanne's Girl at the Window with a Bird-cage until Barnes has an opportunity to see it. Barnes ultimately purchased this painting. It is now titled Girl with a Bird Cage.
